This course examines the economic analysis of education systems in developing countries. Topics include the returns to education, determinants of educational quality, teacher labor markets, school choice and competition, and the design and evaluation of education policies and interventions.
Graduate
This course equips students with the foundational skills and knowledge they need to interpret the most common forms of evidence in education settings and apply them to their practice. Topics include descriptive statistics, research design, causal inference, and critical evaluation of quantitative and qualitative studies.

This course introduces students to the fundamentals of research methods in the social sciences. Students learn to formulate research questions, design studies, collect and analyze data, and interpret findings. The course covers both quantitative and qualitative approaches, with an emphasis on developing critical thinking skills for evaluating research.
Graduate
This course provides a comprehensive introduction to the theory and practice of psychological measurement. Topics include classical test theory, reliability and validity, item analysis, test construction, and an introduction to item response theory. Students gain hands-on experience developing and evaluating measurement instruments.
